Portland Now Generates Electricity from Turbines Installed in City Water Pipelines: #Infinite_Energy

Posted by Unknown | Kamis, 26 Februari 2015 | Category: | 0 komentar

Who says energy crisis may decrease our living standards, at least not till these Innovative minds keeps on developing the solution for these crisis. Similar example of this king of innovation is presented in the Oregon's (U.S.) largest city Portland. Where the new scheme of generating electricity with water running inside the Water pipelines.

The city has collaborated with a company named Lucid Energy to generate clean electricity from the water flowing inside the water pipelines under the streets. The city has replaced all the existing pipelines with Lucid Energy pipes containing 42 inches turbines. So, as the water flows through the Lucid Energy pipes the water hits the turbines and turbines starts spinning and attached generators produces powers which then feed energy back to the city's electrical grid.

This Electric Energy project is known as Conduit 3 Hydroelectric Project the project will be running up in full capacity in March this year.

10 Smartphones to be looked for in 2015

Posted by Unknown | Kamis, 19 Februari 2015 | Category: , , , | 0 komentar

Well every year our smartphones are getting bigger, better and more powerful. We all every year are keen to see what revolution will the smartphone makers will bring out. I will try to bring a glimpse of the smartphones coming next year or which have been released recently. Not very detailed specs but their basic difference from the other smartphones.

Here is a list of ten smartphones which I probably think we will look forward to:

1. Micromax YU:

The Indian smartphone company which had been loved by the Indian Subcontinent the most is bringing up a smartphone YU, the one I am most excited about, equipped with custom Android ROM made by Cyanogen. I am pretty sure that phone geeks will really like this phone and will cost around just $147 in India. It's chipset according to Micromax will be 64-bit based, most probably Snapdragon 615.

2. Microsoft Lumia 1030:

After the Nokia's occupation by Microsoft, it seems that Microsoft will soon announce the update to the best ever smartphone which was announced in 2013, the lumia 1020 which was equipped with 41 megapixels of camera. Lumia 1030 may be it's successor's name, which is hoped to be equipped with 50 megapixels of Camera, 2 gigs of RAM , Snapdragon 801 chip and for all obvious reasons Windows 8.1

3. Motorola Maxx:

Motorola launched international version of its Droid Turbo smartphone, the Moto Maxx and also likely to launch in other countries. Featuring 5.2 inches Quad HD display. Fitted with a Snapdragon 805 SoC, 3 gigs of RAM and 21 MP camera.

4. Xiaomi Mi4:

After just a week, the launch of the Mi3 Xiamomi, also the apple of china announced that the Mi 4 can launch in India soon. It features 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor with 3 Gigs of RAM. Will be available in 16 gigs and 64 gigs of storage. It will be fitted with 13 MP rear and an 8 MP at front. Having 3080 mAh battery and MIUI 6 based on Android 4.4.

5. Sony Xperia Z4:

Sony to introduce it's next flagship device Z4 next year since the 6 month upgrade policy is adopted by Sony. Device is expected to have 32 gigs of internal memory, 3 gigs of RAM. The device's chipset will be snapdragon 810.Talking about camera same 20.7 MP primary camera having Exmor for mobile and 5 MP secondary camera. Sony may include option for the wireless charging.

6. Sony XPERIA Z4 Compact:

As same strategy adopted in old Z series, with the release of Xperia Z4 the small version i.e. Xperia Z4 Compact will also be released since Sony is struggling in the market of mid-range smartphones. Device will have 1080p display with 4.7 inches of screen. 3 gigs of RAM and 32 gigs internal storage.Similar camera specs of the Z4 and also the option of wireless charging.

7. Huawei Honor 6 plus:

Huawei just announced the Honor 6 plus just after the launch of Honor 6. Looks similar to iPhones and Xperia Gadgets. Packing a 5.5 inches of IPS display with 1080p resolution, kirin 925 octa core processor with 3 Gigs of RAM. 32 gigs of external expansion will be provided. Two 8 MP camera sensors to take 13 MP pictures.

8. Samsung Galaxy S6:

Galaxy S series is the second most awaited devices after the iPhones. But, Galaxy phones recently were not able to impress the customers. So, the  South Korean giant announced Galaxy S6. Device will be fitted with Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3 gigs of RAM 5.5 iches QHD display Super AMOLED. Working on Android 5.0 Lollipop with TouchWiz UI.

9. Lumia 435:

Just like Sony, Microsoft is also struggling in the Mid range smartphone's market. New smartphone will be below lumia 530/535. Making it the cheapest Windows 4G smartphone. Device will feature 5 MP camera, Snapdragon 200 chipset 1 GB RAM and 8 gigs of internal storage.

10. HTC M9:

HTC will announce its next flagship it is also codenamed the Hima. It is expected to have 5 inches of screen with a metal body, Snapdragon 805 SoC, 3 gigs of RAM and 20.7 MP camera with obviously Android 5.0 and Sense 7.

So, these devices will be there to revolutionize our Smartphone experience.

Mars One: What we know about the Mars One project

Mars One, the project to send humans on a one way trip to Mars, has attracted so much interest from all walks of life. Even a number of Africans have made applications to join the Mars One Mission which is scheduled for 2024 – and should it succeed will mark a major step in our exploration of our solar system.

But who would want to apply for a one way ticket to Mars? More than 700 possible candidates have so far applied for the Dutch not-for profit Mars One project. They will be whittled down by next year into ‘several international teams’, Mars One said in May. Once chosen, the explorers will have full-time training to prepare themselves for the rigours of Mars.

Here is what we know about Mars and the prospects of the Mars One Project:

  • One way ticket to Mars. According to Mars One, Earth return vehicles that can take off from Mars are currently unavailable, and untested technology and such mission designs incur far greater costs – so there is no coming back!
  • Those on the Mars One spacecraft will have to survive the between seven and nine months travel to Mars – that is when using the current space technology.
  • Mars is the fourth planet from the sun and in our solar system is known as the ‘red planet’ because of the iron oxide in the surface soil that gives it a reddish appearance. It has a very thin atmosphere and no structural magnetic field - although scientists have found evidence suggesting that it once had both. Earth’s magnetic field acts as a shield against the sun’s harsh radiation, which otherwise would kill most biological matter on Earth’s surface.
  • Mars is currently home to five spacecraft: three orbiting it, and two – Curiosity and Opportunity, exploring its surface.
  • Olympus Mons, a volcano on Mars, is the highest known mountain on a planet in our solar system (the highest mountain in the solar system is actually on an asteroid called Vestas). At 22km high, Olympus Mons is nearly three times higher than Mount Everest.
  • The surface temperature of Mars varies between about -90°C and -5°C. The coldest place on Earth, Antarctica, has been known to reach -90°C.
  • Gravity on Mars is about 38% of the gravity on Earth. So, if you were on Mars and you were to jump, you would vault three times higher than here at home.
  • Like Earth, Mars has two polar ice caps. Scientists have estimated that, if they were to melt, the surface of the rocky planet would be covered in about 11m of water. Last year, Curiosity discovered subsurface water, with the soil having a water content of about 4% up to the depth of about an arm’s length. Mars also has ample natural sources of nitrogen, the primary element (80%) in the air we breathe.
  • People living, dying and being buried on Mars could also pose a problem to space science. The planet may be contaminated by Earth bacteria and organisms hitching a ride on a spacecraft making it difficult for scientists to determine whether a life form existed on Mars or was introduced there by the Mars One explorers.
  • Although Mars One does not say where candidates will receive their training, it does say that, as part of the final selection, “the groups will be expected to demonstrate their ability to live in harsh living conditions and work together under difficult circumstances … in a copy of the Mars outpost”. This will be televised.
  • Critics believe, with the current technology, the Mars One project is a suicide mission.
  • Mars One says that the life-support system will be similar to that used on the International Space Station. The living units, each with a total area of 200m2, which is about the size of a tennis court, will house four people, and the different units will be connected by passageways.
  • Mars One’s human habitation will begin with a rover, to be launched in 2020. It will be followed by two living units, two life-support systems and two supply units, which will be linked and activated by the intelligent rover.
  • The first deployment of humans on the Mars One mission will cost US$6-billion, and US$4-billion for each successive mission. Curiosity, with its mobile science laboratory, had a price tag of about US$2.5-billion. Unlike institutions such as Nasa, which has a dedicated government budget, Mars One is crowdsourcing the funding.
  • Radiation is a serious threat to the Mars One explorers. A 500-day mission on the surface [of Mars] would bring the total exposure to about one sievert [a measure of radiation]. Exposure to a dose of 1Sv is associated with a 5% increase in fatal cancer risk. Mars One does not list radiation as one of the challenges. It says that the living units will be buried under the soil to shield their inhabitants from it.
