The two most awaited gadgets of the year are the iPhone and the next Samsung Galaxy series smartphone. Yesterday (i.e. 02/03/2015) Samsung launched it's next gen smartphones i.e. Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge having the curved display at the edges of the smartphone. Both New gadgets got some really cool features let's check them out.
Both the smartphones comes loaded tech specs. They both have got improvements from the older Galaxy S5, much more lighter, smoother in use and a much better build quality. They main breakdowns are:
As we know that only specs are not the parameters to check a gadgets superiority. Most of it comes after the hands on of the device. Firstly speaking about the body and design the body is totally made of metal and glass. Samsung has completely boycotted the old plastic body manufacturing. The metal and glass body feels very good to the eyes while holding in hand. The metal frame runs throughout and is sandwiched between the two layers of Gorilla glass 4. which has also been treated on the inside with a special reflective material coating, giving them a jeweled-metal look that explains why some early leaks made it seem like Samsung had opted for metallic rear casing surfaces.
Samsung has also redone the fingerprint scanner in the home button so that you no longer have to swipe, and theyre going to use that with the launch of their Samsung Pay tech coming later this year. Finally, theyve lightened up their approach to skinning Android (UI add-ons removed by 40 percent, in fact, according to Samsung), and dont even mention the word TouchWiz anywhere, which is great news.
As rumored, the phone also has embedded wireless charging tech, which includes support for both WPC and PMA standards, meaning you can use it with Starbucks, as well as with the more prevalent Qi-enabled home chargers. Samsung is also going to sell its own charging pucks, of course, and on the power front theyve also upped wired charging by a factor of 1.5x, meaning you should get around 4 hours-worth of battery out of 10 minutes of plugged-in charging.
The new devices doesn't have any kind of the external sd card support the company says it's new UFS 2.0 tech is much faster than any other external card and the older versions of internal memory.
The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge go on sale starting April 10 in markets around the world, with White Pearl, Black Sapphire, and Gold Platinum color options for both, plus a special Blue Topaz for the Galaxy S6, and Green Emerald reserved for the Galaxy S6 edge. In the U.S., theyll be available at AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon, as well as Samsungs micro-stores within Best Buy locations, Amazon.com, Costco, Sams Club, Target and Walmart.
Still there is lot more to come about these devices.

In a world of smartphones, smart watches, smart TVs and smart homes, The Light Phone seeks to stand out by being, well, not very smart at all. While in today's world everyone is n social media weather for a professional cause or a just to remain connected to friends, family and to the world.
Here Light Phone is for giving break to a person from intense connectivity to world. The project offers basic approach to the communication that is just making necessary calls.
The beautiful little device is roughly of a size of a credit card having weight of just 39 grams and thickness of 4 mm. It's basically a GSM device with 500 min prepaid talktime that links to the user's smartphone for call forwarding. Everything is handled by a companion app, and we can store up to 10 numbers and can be accessed via speed dialing.
It uses a micro usb jack for charging and can run 20 days on a single charge which is pretty interesting and need of the hour. The other hardware which it has is LCD dot-matrix display and a touch module over the illuminated keyboard. There is also a speaker, volume rocked and a microphone. Simple and beautiful.
In today's busy world where notifications of our smartphone makes it more hectic, the Light Phone is for making your day less hectic. It might not be smartphone itself but it still requires a smartphone to do your job.
The Light Phone project is asking for US$200,000 on Kick starter. Assuming the funding effort is successful, a pledge of $100 will secure a single unit. The company hopes to ship handsets to backers in May 2016.

Most of us loose things easily like Keys, remote or even our tablets, but now Pixie Points offer us a very nice solution to find our lost things easily. They use Smartphone's camera to locate tagged objects in a actual pictures of your surroundings. The system is claimed capable of tracking down "pixified" objects, which are marked with a bold X, to within a few inches of their location.
The Pixie Point sensor tag having water drop shape when attached to the remote or anything you don't want to loose, becomes pixified. Any pixified object can communicate with your smartphone with the Augmented Reality App. Also that object can communicate with other pixified objects. The free iOS/Android app is able to use a secure network to precisely triangulate an object's coordinates within a 30 - 150 ft (10 - 45 m) range.
That means if you can find your remote control which is under the sofa seat then you will see a X-mark at the sofa seat. The app creates an AG reality map of every tagged object making it possible to see everything at once.
If you have lost something beyond the range of 150 ft. then you will be notified it's last known location which indeed is a very nice feature. The company has spent 2 years on meeting the accuracy levels of few inches.
Another nice feature of the pixie app is that we can create a checklists of all the tagged items you need when going on a vacation. Example when leaving for the office you need to verify that everything is in your laptop bag, the app will alert you if anything is missing Each Pixie Point tag has dimensions of 47 x 35 x 3.2 mm (1.8 x 1.3 x 0.1 in) and a lifetime of 18 months. The developers say that in order to keep the Pixie Points as thin as possible, a non-replaceable battery is used. When the internal battery runs low, the app will inform the user and the tag can be disposed of and replaced.
Check out this video demo:
A single packet with four Pixie Points can currently be pre-ordered for US$39.95, while a 12 Pixie Point packet costs $109.85. Shipping begins in the (Northern Hemisphere) summer.

Technology is going freak everyday from smartphones to Quantum Display TVs, From Self Driving Cars by Google to Wearable techs. Everyday new innovation is is coming i tech world, making our lives easier and faster, making the world a smaller place.
The innovation I found over these days is Floating Speakers. Yes, they really float in air!!! but, above their magnetized base. The Beautiful Speaker above is named as OM ONE. It's creators not say tat it is cool but it also raises it's performance buy producing sound in 360 degrees surface area, which makes possible to get out more sound from less powerful speaker. That is why the OM ONE consume less power than other bluetooth speakers. The 3-watt speaker helps it's rechargeable lithium-ion battery to give 15 hours on music on 70 percent volume
The OM ONE speaker's orb measures 9.1 cm in diameter and floats 3 cm in air above the base and weighs 340 gms (levitating friendly). It has 75 mm audio driver and a built-in microphone to make phone calls. The magnetic base which has a luminous Hindu Lord Shiva's OM symbol is 16 cm in diameter and 4 cm in height. Also the speaker is portable and can be used on on it's own only the base is needed to be plugged into a wall socket.
The OM ONE is being crowd-funded through the Om Audio website, with the goal of US $100,000, which is already reached. The pricing will be around $179 and raised to $199.
Here's the video description of The OM ONE speaker:

Researchers have developed a new temperature mapping technology for tiny devices that could help solve the problem of overheating in smartphones and computers.
The new thermal imaging technique allows engineers to "see" how the temperature changes from point to point inside the smallest electronic circuits.
Called plasmon energy expansion thermometry or PEET, the technique allows temperatures to be mapped in units as small as a nanometre, a unit of measure equal to one-billionth of a metre.
This breakthrough should enable engineers to design microprocessors that minimise the problem of overheating in smartphones and computers, said the researchers.
"With the old techniques, measuring the thermal conductivity of a nanowire returns one number. Mapping temperature with PEET, we get 10,000 numbers as we go down the wire," explained lead researcher Chris Regan, associate professor of physics and astronomy at University of California, Los Angeles.
"It is the difference between seeing the score and watching the game one gives you much better knowledge of the players," Regan pointed out.
Modern microelectronic circuits contain billions of nanometer-scale transistors.
Although each transistor generates only a tiny bit of heat as it operates, many transistors operating at once make the computer chips get very hot, which is why cellphones get warm and computers need fans to run properly.
The research team built its technique on the same physical principles behind the glass-bulb thermometer that was invented by Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit in 1724.
PEET determines temperature in the same way by monitoring changes in density using a transmission electron microscope. The team demonstrated the technique on tiny aluminium wires that were heated on one end.

A simple Bracelet-cum-Wrist Watch has been designed by Leatherman the tools company of United States to repair your daily tech from smartphone to simple house clock. Interesting right....
Think of a multi-tool bracelet or watch that can be worn on your wrist. It may sound nerdy or geeky but this thing is really cool. Each link in the band contains two or three functional tools for a total of 25 tools.
This thing having a clever design so, it is fully customizable and can be rebuilt with slotted fasteners. The user can rearrange them, remove or add tools as needed and also can adjust it's upto quarter of an inch. Even the clasp is functional, with a bottle opener and #2 square drive. Other tools include hex drives, screwdrivers, box wrenches, a carbide glass breaker, and a hook-style box cutter that doubles as a SIM card pick.
This is MacGyver wristband constructed of metal-injected molded 17-4 stainless steel. The being tiny still they are not gonna be snap or bend under stress. Also the Swiss quartz movement watch which is available in the fall of 2015. But I will definitely go for a naked bracelet :-) . Have a look of it.
Also a selling point it's TSA and security friendly therefore no worry for travel and security checks. The Tread bracelets will be available in April or May. The stainless steel finish will cost $150, and the black diamond-like carbon finish will cost $200. The tread watches will cost $500 for stainless steel and $600 for black DLC.

CES 2015 in not far now and first tech of 2015 has been released i.e. LG's new Music Flow Speakers that play music whenever you keep your smartphone near these speakers.
The new speakers have many usual specs such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi etc. Also these are LG's first battery powered speakers. The main attraction which is that it plays music when smartphone is kept near, has a condition that the smartphone requires to be running LG's Music Flow app.
"So you could be listening to music on your headphones on the subway ride home but the music will begin playing automatically from your living room Wi-Fi Sound Bar when you enter your living room." {TechCrunch}
It's no all, The Music Flow app can be controlled by using messaging app Line. Therefore once these speakers added as your contact you can say them to "play party songs" or to "turn off music after an hour."

David Cameron could block WhatsApp and Snapchat if he wins the Next Elections in the United Kingdom as part of his plans for new surveillance powers announced in the wake of the shootings in Paris.
The Prime Minister said today that he would stop the use of methods of communication that cannot be read by the security services even if they have a warrant. But that could include popular chat and social apps that encrypt their data, such as WhatsApp.
Apple's iMessage and FaceTime also encrypt their data, and could fall under the ban along with other encrypted chat apps like Telegram.
He said: In our country, do we want to allow a means of communication between people which [] we cannot read? He made the connection between encrypted communications tools and letters and phone conversations, both of which can be read by security services in extreme situations and with a warrant from the home secretary.
But companies such as WhatsApp have remained committed to keeping their services encrypted and unable to be read by authorities, a project which has stepped up in the wake of the Edward Snowdens revelations on NSA surveillance.

CES 2015 was a bang with hole lot of new products. One was a beautiful so called " Tesla of Scooters" The only Smart Scooter in the world with an innovation of hassle free, No Charging technique. Just have a look at it:
This was one of the most beautiful products of the CES 2015. The futuristic Scooter is entirely electric can reach a speed of 90 Km/hr. The parts of this scooter are machined in the same way of sports car.
The Software inside this innovative vehicle brings an enormous amount of customization. The scooter can be Integrated with the iPhone or Android to change the colors of Headlight, monitoring the battery usage, find a battery swap station, call for help if you get crashed or locate where you parked your vehicle.
Yes, now no need of charging a battery because the GOGORO has developed a new technique of battery refill i.e. not by charging it for hours but, by swapping it. All you have to do is take out the battery out and replace it with full battery at the battery swapping station.
The scooter's intelligent software not only monitors your Gogoro for any potential issues, but it also monitors your riding habits to see when you tend to recharge, and it can actually talk to the other charging stations so that they can anticipate where and when you'll stop by, much like a commuter's tendency to stop by the same gas station on the way home from work.
Besides this the GOGORO stations uses energy efficient and extend the life of the batteries by not continuously charging them. And also the headlights get brighter as you speed up so that to look more far away.
Till now the CEO Horace Luke of Gogoro has not announced any kind of price or release date but, it's a long process i.e. building Gogoro battery station all around the country.

I made a new and a very simple project on Arduino for controlling LED brightness by Remote Control. Things you need are:
- IR Sensor
- LED
- Battery 9V
- Bread Board
- Some Connecting wires
- Battery clip
- Arduino Power Chord.
Things are above and now comes the circuit diagram.
Simply hook LED and IR Sensor to the Arduino and its done.
The main thing is that each pressing a particular button of the remote control the LED's brightness will change. This thing can be understood in programming.
I will be adding a video soon in about 30 minutes So, be updated.
Code link is Given Below.Remote Control led
Hope you enjoy the project and ask Your Questions below I would Love to answer them. Video Below will give the demo.

Awesome future is near to us think about our house water pipes never getting damaged due to rust, Motor-less water transferring systems, our clothes never getting wet due to rain and many more things can be like this can be made with the help of this new breakthrough made by Professor Chunlei Guo and colleagues at the University of Rochester. All of this is explained by the beautiful pictures below.
Watch this beautiful video:
They have made micro and nano-structures that turns metals black and make their surface clean and dry, therefore, it could help prevent icing and rust, collect heat more effectively also leading to water repelling Electronics.
Many other hydrophobic coatings are available in the market but they are not long lasting as they depend upon chemicals, they certainly wear off after sometime.
The researcher team at University of Rochester have found a way to change metal properties permanently at it's surface by exposing them to femtosecond lasers, which emit very high pulse in very short interval of time (femtosecond = 10^-15 Seconds)
Using powerful 65-femtosecond laser pulses at a rate of up to one thousand per second the scientists were able to change the surface structure of platinum, titanium and brass samples. The structure they produced was an array of microscopic grooves which were then covered by 5 to 10-nanometer features, a design that was partly inspired by the way in which lotus leaves keep water and parasites at bay.
The result is a remarkable material that not only repels water very effectively (tilt the surface by five degrees and the water slides or bounces right off), but is also velvet black from every angle (which makes it highly light-absorbing) and even self-cleaning.
There is much more to say about the new breakthrough because of shortage of time I can't write much more.

All Gaming freaks always wanted to Play their console games on their smartphone, Well Nvidia the Graphics giant has the solution. Recently in a press conference in Las Vegas the Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang announced a new addition to it's Tegra chip family, the Tegra X1.
The processor uses the most advanced PC Architecture for graphics called the Maxwell. It packs with in a 256-core GPU on the top of 8-core CPU. The most interesting part is that it has 1 Teraflops of computational power, which makes it the "SuperChip".
Now what actually the computational power means?
It has a simple answer that how fast or much data your computer, laptop or a smartphone can handle. And the Tegra X1 is the first mobile chip to reach the Teraflops speed.
According to Huang, the result is tiny workhorse for smartphone is both powerful and energy efficient to bring PC-Console gaming graphics to smartphones. The tiny chip is twice more powerful than previous Tegra K1 The "We're able to run any application that relies on the architecture of Maxwell," Huang said, "That includes any game powered by top-end PCs and home console."
Nvidia is dominating the PC graphics cards by it's GeForce GPUs, Nvidia has driven the rival AMD out of the race. Now Nvidia wants to move in the smartphone market against the Qualcomm which is leader in making and supplying the smartphone processors and most of android phones run on Snapdragon.

Yes, you read it right this beautiful invention can turn anything luminous from your pen to your room's walls. Rohinni an Idaho based startup has developed a light paper which has really thickness of a paper and glows like an LED. It can be applied to any surface of any shape.
"With Lightpaper it's more of a platform of light that we don't even know how it's going to be used," explains Nick Smoot CMO Rohinni. "All we know is that we're trying to unlock the ability to create light."
It is manufactured by mixing ink and tiny LEDs together and printing them out on a conductive layer. This object is packed between two other layers and sealed. These tiny LEDs are about the size of red blood cell!! and are randomly dispersed on the material and the current flows it lights up.
The thin LEDs are the technology developed from the OLED technology but nothing such has came into the market, Lightpaper is much thinner than the OLEDs and has life span of 20 years same as of LEDs.
The company isn't interested in TV market but company is seeing this technology to be applied on a bigger canvas i.e. for making cars head lights, lightning for houses for illuminating logos may of your smartphone, laptops or of your car. The company is working on other implementations of the lightpaper but Smoot didn't tell any to the interviewer
"The design process is something that can be done almost in an afternoon," Smoot says. "We've had people engage with us before, and before the day is out, we have designs that can go to market, which is a pretty weird thought."
For consumers the Lightpaper will be availble in the mid 2015 .But Rohinni won't be aiming at the home hobbyist market until after it takes hold in the commercial and industrial space. There some problems though related to this beautiful technology that is related to every tech in today's world like it has shimmering or starry night effect.
"The magical thing about this solution is it's brighter, it's thinner, it's flexible, it's addressable, and programmable. You can address the sections of the diodes, which is a whole other space when you start thinking about solutions of light that you can address sections of."

All you need to know Review Google_Cardboard

Virtual Reality Headsets were the main attractions in this year's CES at Las Vegas. All the headsets like Oculus Rift really seized the moment, but the main issue was there cost which varied between $200-$400 which is pretty much. Samsung also proposed that they want to work on a smartphone compatible VR headset.
But Google just replaced big, costly electronic VR headsets with just a cardboard!! what? Yes, just a piece of cardboard, two lenses and two magnets. As simple as that and it is that cheap too. It is available on Amazon only for 6 bucks. Moreover you can make it your own by just ordering the kit online and give it different colors which indeed makes it attractive you can check people's creativity on Google Cardboard's Official Site.
I had a chance of hands-on of this simple and amazing VR headset. Let's see what I found.
Firstly thing about the headset which attracted me is it's amazingly simple and cheap. Which will attract most of the user
Construction and Basic Look:
The basic look of this device is pretty simple a cardboard given shape of headset. Obviously you can make it by yourself at home as I told you earlier by just ordering the kit online. Now you can think how simple is building it. the shade which my friend ordered is black which is pretty good I would say. There's a black strap as you can see to just fit around your head and at the front a cavity for inserting the smartphone.
Many Joints are supported by pairs of velcro. At the front there is a sort of cutting or hole for the camera. Behind the flap there is a pair of Biconvex lenses divided by a piece of cardboard for separating the vision of both eyes for a 3-D sensation. The only flaw which I found in the headset was that there is no setting for spectacles for a specy guy like me it was a bit of problem but overall it has a nice design.
My friend Abhinav Goyal who ordered the Headset online tried to make the same headset by wood in the University Workshop. But there was a bit of parts problem as he was unable to find Biconvex lens used in the Headset. But, that headset is still under development.
The white one is the one which my friend made. |
Working and the 3-D sensation:
Now comes the main working and and the 3-D sensation. When I wore the headset, it was pretty comfortable and the moment I wore it I really was in a Virtual World the app which was running on the Headset was the Cardboard app itself. I started the windy Day demo in the app a funny animated story of a mouse and it's hat. I was like I am standing in front of the mouse. My Friend has Xiaomi Mi 3 smartphone which has a very nice 1080 p display. So the 3-D Picture was really crisp and vivid.Basically the the apps for the cardboard divides the screen in two parts which when sen through the Biconvex lens fitted inside the Cardboard.
The other application I tried was the Virtual Tour of space and Guys one of the most amazing 3-D video experience I ever had. Really those big planets and there was a spaceship too but I did not understand that were the aliens of Human spaceship.
I also tried a bunch of apps they were as amazing as they other two were. As to conclude I would say that the it really has the excellence of Google. Such an advanced technology and complex electronic circuits replaced by just a cardboard and a pair of lens. I would say I had a really amazing experience with the Google Cardboard.
